Relationship
Kainos reimagine how organisations operate, creating new ways of working that improve people’s experiences and lives. Organic were brought on board to reimagine their digital experience, to bring it up to date and in line with their new ‘One Kainos’ strategy.
The Challenge
The brief was to bring the new ‘One Kainos’ strategy to life for two distinct businesses, uniting them under one experience but retaining their independence for separate audiences.
The key challenges were:
- Two distinct businesses
- Multiple service areas
- Different customer types within each service area
- We needed to create one solution for all
The approach
To merge two businesses into one within the experience we needed deep insight into the customer’s goals and needs.

We designed a structure that reflected the brand strategy and a library of pages and modules from this insight. The steps were:
- Proto-personas from company knowledge
- Interview customers
- Personas
- End-to-end customer journey mapping
- Information Architecture
- Wireframes and prototypes
- Usability testing
The result
Deep customer insight
The research provided deep customer insight, relevant to the immediate project but also to the wider business above and beyond the website transformation.
IA reflecting the One Kainos strategy

The new structure enabled Kainos to bring their ‘One Kainos’ strategy to life in the global areas of the website such as the homepage, About and Insights. It also provided a unified brand experience and a holistic view of the company, while retaining the necessary separation between service areas to give users quick and easy access to relevant information.
A flexible library of pages templates and modules
We designed a flexible library of page templates and modules that provided building blocks for the initial launch and future developments and improvements. Prototypes were used to bring the more complicated elements of the interface to life, and detailed annotations.
